Product Description
Ningjin APC UL FM wet alarm check valve consists of wet alarm valve, retard chamber, pressure gauges, water motor alarm bell, fire pressure switch, drain valve and filter etc. This NFPA compliant alarm valve assembly is used in wet pipe sprinkler fire protection systems that are applicable to the places with the ambient temperature from 4℃ to 70℃. This system is generally installed in the places with fire hazards, like the hotel, shopping mall, hospital, theater, office building, conference center, warehouse, high-rise building and underground garage.
Alarm Check Valves act as a reliable water flow alarm initiating device in such commercial wet pipe sprinkler systems. When water flows in the sprinkler system due to the operation of one or more automatic fire sprinklers, the alarm valve clapper opens allowing continuous flow of water into the system, which will activate water motor bell and pressure switches to send fire alarm signals.
The design of this UL/FM Alarm Check Valve allows for installation under both variable and constant water supply pressure conditions. The full valve trim incorporates a bypass between the water supply and the wet pipe system. When pressure surges and water hammer in the water supply occur, the trim allows a small amount of water to bypass the clapper, effectively limiting the potential of false alarms for all the above-mentioned fire-risk locations.

Installation
This device shall be installed in locations where it is easy to observe and access. Mount the wet alarm valve vertically on piping that has passed pressure testing and been thoroughly cleaned. Note that the water flow directional arrow must point upward. Sufficient clearance space for maintenance and repair shall be reserved prior to installation.
Step 1: Piping Cleanup
Fully clean the entire system piping network before installation. Confirm all pipe inner walls are coated with anti-rust coating, with no sediment or dirt remaining inside the pipes.
Step 2: Drain Design
To easily identify the piping branch triggering an alarm, design an open drain outlet during installation so water discharge can be clearly observed.
Step 3: Component Inspection
Inspect the flange joint of the wet alarm valve for damage; verify the sealing component is intact and the valve clapper operates smoothly. Perform a leakage test at twice the rated working pressure. The valve clapper must remain leak-free after testing. If any defects are found, replace spare parts or resolve faults before assembly.
Step 4: Gauge Orientation
Adjust the pressure gauge to an orientation with clear visible readings.
Step 5: Pressure Switch
Mount the pressure switch on top of the retard chamber. This pressure switch must be installed vertically and is only suitable for indoor use. Test reliable operation after installation.
Step 6: Alarm Bell
Install the water motor alarm bell on top of the retard chamber, and verify reliable performance after installation.
Step 7: Retard Chamber Support
Apart from support via trim piping, secure the retard chamber to the main piping with pipe clamps to eliminate shifting or loosening during operation.
